For the fashion lovers around the world, Florence is a superb holiday destination because here you will get not only the world-famous design houses and stores but also several interesting fashion museums. In 2011, Gucci, one of the best-acknowledged brands in the world, inaugurated its three floors museum in the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia situated in Piazza Signoria. Actually, the museum is a tribute to the city from Gucci where it has started its journey in 1921 as it opened its first leather goods company along with a small luggage store.
In its ground floor the permanent exhibition space is based on the theme Travel as here you will find a large room stuffed with accessories, trunks, suitcases and articles created for international jet-set that brought the acclamation of Gucci in the time of Fifties, Sixties and Seventies.
The first floor represents some special themes and icons such as Princess Grace along with her husband Rainier, the Prince of Monaco’s visit to Gucci’s Milan store. Here you can view the Flora World, from the great collection on handbags, evening dresses designed especially for VIPs to their prestigious events.
The second floor is dedicated to Logomania where you will experience the chronicle evolution of double G monogram. Moreover, you will also see silver glasses, lamps and picnic baskets bearing the logo of Gucci.
