Art gallery extraordinaire

Berlin’s König Galerie was founded in 2002 by Johann König and represents 30 talented emerging and established artists from around the world. These include Henning Bohl, Tue Greenfort, Kiki Kogelnik, Corrine Wasmuht, Jeppe Hein, Helen Marten and Jeremy Shaw. This contemporary art gallery showcases a variety of art mediums including photography, sculpture, performance based art, printmaking and painting.

The König Galerie has built a solid reputation in the art world and many of their works appear in private and public collections globally, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Guggenheim Foundation. The gallery also regularly participates in international art fairs like the Paris Art Fair, London Art Fair and Frieze Art Fair. The gallery in Dessauerstrasse is undergoing renovations and is expected to re-open in May 2016; and a second gallery recently opened at the former St. Agnes church.
